Need a vehicle rental quote for Work and Income?

Complete the online request form and our team will prepare a written vehicle rental quote with the information Work and Income needs to review your request. A quote does not confirm a booking or guarantee approval, funding or vehicle availability.

How it works

A straightforward way to request your quote.

Cross Country is registered as a supplier in the Work and Income system. To prepare the correct quote, we need information about the person the assistance relates to, the proposed rental, the vehicle required and any additional driver.

Once the request is received, our team will review the details, confirm availability and prepare the quote. The customer can then provide the quote to Work and Income as part of their funding request. Work and Income makes the decision on whether assistance is approved.

Simple process

From request to approved rental

Complete the online form

Provide the customer, journey, vehicle and contact information needed for us to prepare the quote.

We prepare the quote

Our team checks the request and vehicle availability, then prepares a written quote for the proposed rental.

Send it to Work and Income

Provide the quote to Work and Income. They will assess the request and advise whether funding has been approved.

Return the approval

If approved, provide Cross Country with the Notice of Credit or written payment authority so we can verify the details and progress the booking.

Funding approval

What we need before confirming the booking

A Work and Income quote is not payment authority. Before the rental can be confirmed under the approved arrangement, Cross Country must receive and verify suitable written authority.

  • The correct Work and Income client name
  • The approved amount
  • Cross Country listed as the supplier
  • A valid Notice of Credit, or approved written payment authority from a Work and Income
  • Details that match the quote and proposed rental

Supplier Information Cross Country vendor number: CUR00008859. The Work and Income service centre selected in their system does not change this vendor number.

Important payment information

A bond is still required for WINZ rentals

Bond: $1,000

Work and Income funding does not remove the requirement for a rental bond. The applicable bond must be arranged before the vehicle is released. The bond can sometimes be paid by Work and Income, and then is refunded to them on completion of the hire.

Bond refunds

Where the bond has been funded through Work and Income, any approved refund is returned to Work and Income, not paid directly to the hirer.

Additional amounts

Any rental costs, extensions, damage, fuel, kilometres or other charges not covered by the approved amount remain the customer’s responsibility under the rental agreement.
